The Work Force is a five year long program which prepares low-income adolescents for economic and personal success by engaging a comprehensive network of positive adult role models, fostering collaboration among school personnel, local businesses, and students’ families.  The program utilizes professional staff and over 60 volunteers to provide after-school life skills/job readiness classes, placement in mentored after-school and summer jobs, tutoring and other academic supports, staffed computer centers, a Summer Literacy Camp, and a variety of college prep supports, including provision of modest scholarships to all alumni who matriculate in 2- or 4-year colleges.

The CRLS Senior Internship Program provides opportunities for motivated seniors to explore an academic area of interest by placing them in research centers, labs, organizations, and businesses. Students work at their internship sites during the school day, for school credit, and also attend a seminar on Professionalism and Good Work.  Through involvement in the Internship Program, students deepen their understanding of content-area skills, develop important career-preparedness skills, make real-world connections to their academics, and explore career possibilities

The Cambridge Youth Programs offer diverse, high quality programs that promote leadership and youth development through enrichment activities, unique experiences, and opportunities to develop relationships with adults and peers.  Our programs enable Cambridge youth to thrive and feel a sense of belonging, resulting in young adults who are ready for future employment, higher education, citizenship and adult life.  Our five fully-equipped youth centers include classroom space, meeting rooms, gymnasiums, kitchens and easy access to parks.  The centers are conveniently located in five Cambridge neighborhoods.

The Cambridge Youth Programs operate two distinct programs within each center -- An afterschool Pre-teen Program and an evening Teen Program.  Our programs are designed to be in alignment with national research, promoting youth development and leadership.  We offer additional programs during school vacation weeks and summer months. CYP provides year-round activities for more than one thousand youth.

East End House is a not-for-profit, multi-service community center and social service agency founded in East Cambridge in 1875 with an on-going commitment to a diverse population, providing programs and services to strengthen family and community. East End House recognizes that it is imperative to actively and creatively engage youth in a safe, supportive and structured environment during out of school time. East End House has a variety of new and developing intiatives, including STEM programming in out-of-school time, service learning opportunities, leadership development and mentoring.  The agency offers volunteer and work related opportunities for young people.

TeenWork is a free private-sector job placement program that helps carefully prescreened Cambridge high school students secure after-school jobs and summer jobs in settings where they do not traditionally have access. Staff provide employment readiness training, job matching and supportive counseling throughout.

The Rindge School of Technical Arts, known throughout Cambridge as RSTA, is the Career and Technical Education component of the Cambridge Rindge and Latin School, Cambridge's public, comprehensive high school. RSTA offers ten different programs of study, each comprised of a three-year sequence of courses in an occupational field, which follow a curriculum developed by current industry representatives and is aligned with Massachusetts Department of Education Curriculum Frameworks. Founded in 1994, Science Club for Girls builds science literacy and confidence by connecting girls in K-12 grades with students and professionals in science, engineering and technology.  Our free, after school programs emphasize hands-on explorations for younger grades, and include public speaking, career exploration, job and life skills development for older grades.

For more than 45 years, Tutoring Plus has been forging relationships between volunteers and students to inspire academic and personal growth.
Focusing on the Area 4 neighborhood of Cambridge, Tutoring Plus provides free services to families, a structured environment for volunteers and a
highly personalized approach to working with students that produces results for all involved. Tutoring Plus currently runs six middle and high school tutoring
centers throughout the school year as well as enrichment programs in math, science and a media literacy program for young women.
